The Chicago Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is located at the southernmost part of Lake Michigan and includes the Great Lakes Naval Base training facility. The lead partner in the region is the M3 Chicago: Metro, Manufacturing, Momentum. An EDA-designated “manufacturing community,” CMMC brings together metal manufacturers and relevant stakeholders to develop matchmaking events and facilitate information sharing that leads to new business opportunities for manufacturers in the region—many of which may be linked to broader defense supply chains.
